Preparation for the Sacraments of 1st Eucharist and Reconciliation are done typically in the 2nd grade.  There is a required parent meeting for each individual sacrament, learning center stations for child and parent (a day set aside when the child and parent participate in six themed stations to prepare for 1st Reconciliation and 1st Eucharist) and a take-home preparation book that the parent or guardian receive at the parent-only meeting to prepare their daughter or son to receive each of these sacraments.  (Parents are the primary and first educators of the faith to their child(ren) CCC2223.)  The Parents need to enroll their child in Faith Formation classes to help prepare them to receive these two sacraments.
